Our training philosophy . . .

We have one very simple but critically important goal.  That goal is to provide each of our training pilots with the aeronautical decision making and flight maneuvering skills to remain safe under all circumstances aloft.

Bob Miller Flight Training, Inc. (BMFT) takes each of its training pilots well beyond the minimum legal flight standards to a far higher level of proficiency.  Unlike many flight training schools that train in designated practice areas and at home town airports, our training students learn on actual cross-country flights throughout the national airspace system.  Our training destinations range from large east coast cities, to regional airports with delightful cafes, to mountain airstrips.

We view the vagaries of weather as opportunities to impart critical skills rather than as reasons to remain sequestered in desk-top flight simulators and classrooms.  Our training pilots learn how to make accurate go/no-go decisions, thereby minimizing the impact of weather as a major risk factor to aviation.  Unlike other flight schools, we believe that the cockpit is the BEST classroom, for it is here that our training pilots will develop their proficiency.

Our flight training professionals . . .

Each of our flight instructors are seasoned pilot veterans who teach because they enjoy teaching.  They are NOT last year's student pilot graduates who became flight instructors as a way to build logbook hours for an airline job.  Our training pilots begin and end their training experience with the SAME instructor!

Our flight training aircraft . . .

Unlike many flight schools that use air-weary, round-gauge relics of an earlier era, our training aircraft use only late model aircraft with 21st century instrument panels.  Our aircraft are equipped with glass panels (Garmin G1000), uplink NEXRAD weather images, traffic and terrain collision alert systems, autopilots, and leather interiors.

Our flight training is remarkably affordable

We use an intensive training model that instills critical skills in minimum time.  Rather than stringing students along in a time-consuming (and expensive) fashion, training pilots move quickly from one level of learning to the next with no interruptions or delays.  Training, again, is provided in the real-world, national airspace system.  It is here that learning is optimized.

Convenient financing is available.  Bob Miller Flight Training, Inc. offers low interest loans to make learning to fly or advancing through the pilot ratings remarkably affordable.

Our flight training is individualized

Bob Miller Flight Training, Inc. tailors its curriculum to the unique needs of each of its training pilots.  Early morning to late evening, week days, and week-end training times enable even the busiest business executive or professional to fit flight training into his or her schedule.

Train and earn a college degree at the same time . . .

Bob Miller Flight Training, Inc. is affiliated with Utah Valley State College (UVSC), an accredited four-year college that is ranked among the top five comprehensive public colleges in the West by U.S. News & World Report.

UVSC's Global Aviation Degree Program has received national awards from the University Continuing Education Association for innovative quality curriculum and student support system.

This online education program offers a two-year Associates in Applied Science degree and a four-year Bachelor of Science in Aviation.  The total cost of this degree granting program, including all related flight instruction, is less than $10,000 per year.  Even better, students are eligible for all traditional financial aid including scholarships, grants, VA benefits, and other federal assistance.

Flight Training Opportunities . . .

Private Pilot CertificateBMFT, Inc.'s accelerated training curriculum can lead to a Private Pilot certificate in as little 30 days and at a cost far below traditional flight programs that stretch the training out over four to six months or more.

Instrument Rating: Learning to fly safely in the clouds, solely by reference to flight instruments, requires real-world flight experience rather than simulations that are often used in traditional flight schools.  BMFT, Inc. equips each instrument pilot with both the skills and the confidence to fly safely through inclement weather.

Commercial Certificate:  The commercial certificate enables pilots to be paid for the their piloting services.  Again, BMFT, Inc.'s accelerated commercial curriculum can lead to a commercial certificate in just a matter of weeks.

Specialized Training . . .

Advanced Maneuvers in aircraft certified in the NORMAL category:

It is not necessary to take aerobatic training to develop effective spin awareness and recovery skills.  Instead, acquiring mastery of cross-control and accelerated stalls in any aircraft can instill powerful anti-spin and spin recovery skills.

Similarly, landing in gusty crosswinds need no longer be a nail-biting, anxiety producing experience.  Bounced and ballooned landings can become a things of the past for pilots who train aggressively in challenging surface winds.

Our Advance Maneuvers training is designed to develop consummate aircraft control skills in flight attitudes that never exceed 60 degrees of bank or place the aircraft in flight regimes not permitted by its certification limits.

Becoming a Garmin G1000 Power User:

Today's airplane is glass panel equipped.  If yours is equipped with a G1000 or you plan on flying a G1000 equipped airplane, this training is for you!
